Laguna Water Reinforces Commitment to Environmental Sustainability Through Community Partnerships

Laguna Water continues to strengthen its environmental stewardship efforts through active participation in community-driven initiatives that promote environmental awareness, water resource protection, and sustainable development across its service areas.

 

Encouraging Environmental Awareness Among the Youth

In celebration of Earth Day 2026, Laguna Water joined the Environmental Summit organized by the City Government of Santa Rosa, which gathered students from public and private schools for a day of learning and engagement on environmental issues. The event provided a platform to encourage young people to take an active role in protecting the environment and adopting sustainable practices in their daily lives. By supporting programs that foster environmental awareness among the youth, Laguna Water helps nurture the next generation of responsible citizens and environmental advocates.

 

Joining Hands for Laguna de Bay Conservation

As part of the World Water Day celebration, Laguna Water participated in the "Abot Kamay para sa Laguna de Bay: Mission in Action - Solid Waste Recovery" campaign held in Barangay Aplaya, Santa Rosa City. The cleanup drive, led by the Laguna Lake Development Authority and the City Government of Santa Rosa, brought together more than 2,000 volunteers who collected approximately 6,000 kilograms of waste along the lakeshore. Recyclable materials, including plastics, were recovered and properly directed to recycling facilities, helping prevent further pollution of Laguna de Bay. Laguna Water employee-volunteers contributed around 300 kilograms of the total waste collected. To support the large-scale activity, the company also provided a water tanker, handwashing stations, and hydration facilities to help ensure the comfort and well-being of participants throughout the cleanup effort.

 

Promoting Environmental Education and Reforestation in Cabuyao

Laguna Water also joined members of the Cabuyao River Protection Advocates (CaRPA) during the 2nd Quarter Multi-Stakeholder Environmental Community Engagement Activity at Marinig National High School in Barangay Marinig, Cabuyao City. The initiative brought together volunteers from various sectors for a tree-planting activity featuring native tree species within the school grounds, complemented by an environmental learning session for students. As part of the program, Laguna Water conducted a session on proper sanitation practices and the importance of wastewater treatment in protecting both public health and the environment. Organized by the Cabuyao City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) in celebration of Environmental Month, the activity emphasized the importance of collaboration among government agencies, private organizations, and local communities in advancing environmental conservation efforts. Through these initiatives, Laguna Water remains committed to safeguarding natural resources, advancing environmental education, and working with partners and communities to help build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for all.
