Promoting environmental awareness, protection, and sustainability, Laguna Water together with the Boy ScoutS of the Philippines – City of Calamba Council, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Calamba City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and various volunteers from different schools, private and public companies and institutions in Laguna planted more than 500 saplings at the Matang Tubig Spring’s watershed.

Located at Brgy. Casile, Cabuyao, Laguna, Matang Tubig Spring is one of the main sources of water supply of Laguna Water.

“Having seen and experienced the vast effects of environmental degradation, each of us should now act to help solve the problems caused by humanity. We still have time to save our planet and preserve the resources we are enjoying today so future generations may still get to experience them,” said Real Magtangob, Laguna Water’s Head of Regulatory and External Affairs.

Themed “Go Green for Cleaner Water and Fresher Air”, 500 seedlings of fruit bearing trees such as Guyabano were planted at the Matang Tubig Spring’s watershed. After the tree-planting, Ron Reyes of Calamba CENRO facilitated a short lecture on the importance of water and the simple acts one can do for the environment.

Every year, Laguna Water conducts a series of tree planting activities in different areas in Laguna as part of their commitment to help preserve the environment. Since 2013, the organization has partnered with both local and national government agencies to plant over 1,000 trees.

With environmental protection as part of the company’s vision, Laguna Water is committed in developing and implementing programs and activities that benefit the environment.
