Cabuyao City supports Laguna Water’s environmental initiatives

Simple Acts for the Environment. Residents of Brgy. Marinig, Cabuyao, Laguna supports Laguna Water’s call to protect and preserve the environment, especially the water systems found in their areas.

Knowing that having clean water systems directly contributes to the improvement of both socio-economic and health and nutrition status of families in the Philippines, Laguna Water brings its information, education, and communication (IEC) programs, Mobile Lakbayan and Toka Toka, on the importance of proper used water management and the protection and preservation of our natural water sources to different cities and municipalities in Laguna.

Last April 30, Laguna Water conducted the two environmental advocacy programs at Barangay Marinig Elementary School in Cabuyao, Laguna.

Mobile Lakbayan presented the different processes Laguna Water implements to ensure that the water used by its customers is safe and clean. Also discussed was the company's used water treatment process, an important procedure done to convert  used water into environmentally acceptable water, safe enough to be returned to streams and rivers.

Apart from its water treatment process, the largest water service provider in Laguna, through its Toka  Toka program, discussed what every member of the community can do to help bring back the environmental quality of the water systems found in their areas.

In support of Laguna Water's initiatives to clean waterways in areas where it operates, the City Government of Cabuyao signed the Toka Toka Pledge of Commitment for the Environment. The ceremonial signing was led by Laguna Water's External Affairs Manager Ana Martir and Cabuyao City's Department of Interior and Local Government Director Melody Barairo, along with representatives of the barangay and local government offices of the City.

Laguna Water is a successful public-private partnership between the Provincial Government of Laguna and Manila Water Philippine Ventures, a wholly-owned company by Manila Water Company Inc. (Manila Water), the Ayala-led water service provider in the East Zone of Metro Manila and a leader in the water industry in the Philippines, with presence in Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia.
