Laguna Water Allocates P1.4B for Service Expansion

Laguna Water, the largest water and used water service provider in Laguna, is set to spend P1.4 billion this 2016 in pursuit of expanding its service reach to more customers within the province of Laguna.
Last year, Laguna Water’s concession agreement was amended allowing the company to extend its water and used water services from the original concession areas covering the cities of Biñan, Cabuyao, and Sta. Rosa to the entire Laguna province.
Realizing the vital role of enhanced water services in providing opportunities for the people and in contributing to the progressive and sustainable economic growth of the province, Laguna Water continuously improves its services and seeks for new opportunities to fulfill its commitment to provide Laguna access to sustainable, safe and clean water.
With service expansion and growth of customer base as the main focus of the company for 2016, bulk of its budget will be allocated to water source development, water network expansion, and improvement and rehabilitation projects.
Laguna Water has also started construction of the Laguna Well Field project, a 1.6-billion peso water facility which aims to provide as much as 100 million liters of water per day (MLD), in the middle of 2015. Laying and installation of thirteen network expansion lines are likewise being implemented to support the distribution of water to the expected 24,000 new service connections by the end of 2016.
At present, Laguna Water provides water to more than 107,000 service connections in Laguna, which includes residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
Laguna Water is a public-private partnership between the Provincial Government of Laguna and Manila Water Philippine Ventures, a subsidiary of Manila Water.
