Laguna Water hits more than 125,000 Service Connections

Laguna Well Field is one of the largest groundwater facilities in the Philippines. This centralized water distribution system of Laguna Water is set to provide safe and clean water to more than 135,000 households in the Province of Laguna.

Laguna Water, the largest water and used water services provider in the Province of Laguna, ended the year 2016 with more than 125,000 customers. This is a 25% increase in customer base than the previous year.

In the span of seven years, this Manila Water subsidiary was able to multiply its number of service connections to almost eight times the 17,000 connections when it started in 2009.

Laguna Water’s Finance and concurrent Regulatory and External Affairs Head Mark F. Mesina said that with the expansion of the company’s territorial scope from the three cities of Binan, Santa Rosa, and Cabuyao to the entire Province, the organization looks forward to provide more communities access to safe and clean water and adequate sanitation.

Currently, the company provides water services to various subdivisions and commercial establishments in Calamba, San Pablo, Alaminos, Pila, Santa Cruz, and Pagsanjan.

The continued growth and development of the company is attributed to its unceasing efforts to improve its services. Last year, it started the operation of the Laguna Well Field, one of the largest groundwater facilities in the Philippines which can supply 100 million liters of water per day.

Championing health and sanitation of its growing number of customers and ensuring sustainability of water resources, the company is set to offer desludging services within the year. Currently, Laguna Water is upgrading its Sewage Treatment Plant to include a fully-mechanized Septage Treatment facility, which will treat the domestic used water from different communities in the Province before it can actually be discharged to a body of water.

Laguna Water is a successful public-private partnership between the Provincial Government of Laguna and Manila Water Philippine Ventures, a wholly-owned company by Manila Water Company Inc. (Manila Water), the Ayala-led water service provider in the East Zone of Metro Manila and a leader in the water industry in the Philippines, with presence in Vietnam, Myanmar and Indonesia.
